Bounce Low, Bounce High

Let me just start by saying, I'm usually a VERY mannered and normal person. Your typical girl next door, never do anything embarrassing and always full of self control.

Please tell me you buy that.

I woke up at ungodly hour this morning. I don't know about you morning people but for me 6 AM is definitely the time I should still be in bed, especially when I usually fall asleep around 3 or 4 AM. I had to wake up early today because there's a take home mid test that should be submitted no later than 8 AM at school ( Can you say child abuse and misuse of powers from the teaching staff ? ). My school is pretty near but it never matters in Jakarta since there's always a traffic jam happening. Normally by car the school is only 10 to 15 minutes tops from home but add a fully packed morning street and I'm blessed to get there in 45 minutes.

These kind of situations totally make me have such fast paced morning lifestyle with the ability to multi task if I happen to have an early class. Usually after my maid practically shook me to wake me up since alarm is sadly no longer effective, I stormed out to the bathroom to have quick horse style shower and get dressed ( in whatever happens to be the first thing I grab in the closet ). If I have time, I have quick breakfast afterward but if I don't I get my coffee to go and already behind the wheel soon after. I usually am still sleepy, yet it makes me good at multi tasking. I can do anything from brushing my hair to put on mascara to drink coffee while I drive. Sometimes while blocking other cars who wanna cut my way and give them the finger.

Impressed? Yes, yes, you should be.

Anyway this post isn't about my multi tasking skill on the road. But it has something to do with driving and being in the road. You know since the morning traffic usually moves so slowly I do a lot of things to distract myself from the bad mood of waiting for the cars in front of me to move. Texting and browsing are usually my effective methods but simpler thing like listening to a good song always does the trick. The problem is, when I'm into a music sometimes I forget where I am and what I do. I tend to sing it loud and dance to it a little. I can't help it.

This morning, well, definitely not my proudest moment in my car singing and dancing history. See, the road was full and all cars were stopping, right? My car happened to be positioned like this :

When this song came out :

In case you don't know already, catchy dance tunes with dumb lyrics always get me. And Bounce* is quite a classic track from MSTRKRFT, never ceased to make me bored ever since it's out around a year ago and being so overplayed in clubs.

So I do what all musically possessed dancing whores do when they listen to tracks they like :

MySpace Funny Pictures

Only, you know, in sitting position and fully clothed. With people from both of the buses and bikes looking at me because the loud music shocked them already in the first place. They didn't need a crazy girl who looked like she just stumbled out of bed with messy sticked out hair wiggling like a lunatic along with it. It took quite a few moment for me to realize what happened and when I did, wow...I hoped the earth drowned me alive. Or you know, just the light to turn green so we all could get the hell away from there and never have to see each other again.

It didn't happen until the next 10 minutes or so. 10 excruciating minutes of feeling the smirks and stares and head shakes from people outside my car.

I should really switch the windows to darker ones.

* I dare you to actually tell me you don't feel like dancing when you listen to that song.

You know what's really awesome? Somebody on one of those buses got a cell phone video of you and is posting it on THEIR blog right now. I'm gonna search for it. LOL ;-)

Not sure where I found your blog, but it's really great!

I sing and dance in the car all the time! I'm a multitasker too, I can dance and drive! But I wouldn't attempt to put make-up on, except a bit of lipgloss. I'd end up looking like a clown. Or a whore. Lol.

I can't stop looking at that pic of the naked dancing man! It's so wrong but so funny!

Hope you're having a fantastic week!

I would've danced too! The people in the bus were probably just jealous that they weren't driving like you were and had cool music to listen to.

This sounds like my mornings...but I'm a morning person before coffee.

There's no shame is singing and dancing in the car. But maybe you should go for a darker tint...for next time.

At least you don't get carried away and sing in an art store full of people. =)

Ahh, you are so cute! Don't have shame, it's a great song to dance to :) And gosh, I am in complete agreement that 6am is WAY too early for anything school-related!

6 am is very early. I get up at 6:30 and sometimes 5:30, which makes me sad.

I also sing in the car but when someone looks I pretend to yawn. The song is catchy and I would have danced too!

OMFG how did I not know this song. -download-

In California, it's against the law to drive without a bluetooth thing... lately I've been wondering how many people just wear one anyway to cover the fact that they are totally just rocking out in the car alone.

That would have been hilarious! I love seeing people singing and dancing in their cars. It beats waiting around in traffic =p

Firefox lets me read your blog with no problems. I love Firefox now.

Very awesome picture, described the scene perfectly.

I once pulled up to a middle age woman singing "Alice.. Alice.. Who the fuck is Alice?" She was pretty embarrassed.

I don't think I've ever been caught singing, but then I get so into it I have no idea what's happening around me.

Haha, if my windows are down, I always turn down my music at redlights. I just hate people staring at me! I would have loved to see that though :)
