Thank You For Blogging Award 2009

I haven't posted blog awards for a long, long time. Don't get me wrong, I love them. I'm entertained reading their descriptions in people's blogs and feel absolutely honored when I'm awarded with one. My blogger friends are AMAZING. But I usually just say thank-you to them lately, instead of posting them in my blog.

Not this time.

The Lovely Kim from Perfectly Cursed Life gave me a special Thank You For Blogging Award ( TFYBA ). Why special? That's because according to her ( and I completely agree ) since thanksgiving is just around the corner, it's time to thank the people that influenced your life in the past year, including bloggers. After all, don't blog friends of yours tend to know you better than your in-real-life friends and families? Just like the name, the award is appropriate to be given out in the days surrounding thanksgiving.

Here are the rules:

1. Each recipient who receives a TYFBA must give away at least four (4) TYFBAs

2. Each recipient must describe, in at least three words why they are giving that person the award.

And here are the fabulous people I'm giving away the award to, in no particular order :

1. Where Did All The Pecans Go? - Singaporean's Finest, Nashe, just like me, is a college undergrad. And just like me, she curses like a sailor, is addicted to fashion, hip-hop music, and crazy debaucheries. Her blog always makes me laugh and she always asks how I'm doing and genuinely shows interests in my music. I adore this girl.

2. musings of the corybantic painted nails - Ejannz is my soul sister, we think alike. She's this super smart but crazy doctor, think Scrubs. Sometimes I wonder if she dances on hospital corridor. She shares my appreciation of sexy slow jam music and shirtless male models.

3. Livit, Luvit - Feeling bored? Read her. Want something to laugh and sometimes gross you out at the same time? Read her. She's responsible for everyone in the blogosphere being so open about stuff like menstrual blood and pooping on weird places. TMI Thursday, FTW!

4. Confession of a Twenty Something Years Old - Cheryl ALWAYS makes me laugh. It's just the way she writes that make people love her easily. Often thoughtful but a lot of them are also super bubbly and energetic. Guess I have to blame that on her coffee addiction.

5. ChinkyMel's Corner - Mel is one of the nicest girls I've ever encountered in the blogosphere. Her blog posts are always relate-able and interesting to read. I like it especially when she rants about weird people she met. Or awkward situations she's in. Priceless.

6. My Kafkaesque Life - I'm one of those people who's guilty of initially thought Nino is a woman the first time he commented at my blog. But actually it's just because he's nice and sensitive. He has all these female bloggers go for him for advices or supports. He's just that damn good of a listener. Oh, and he posts pictures of sexy girls on his blog too.

7. Classy and Fabulous - Sarah is a pretty girl with interesting insights I always look forward to read. She's the kind of blogger who can make you smile one time and cry on another. Her stories with her family, relationships, and friends are moving. She's also girly and like to shop too. I love her posts on dresses, shoes, accessories and make-ups. Classy and fabulous indeed.

8. PinkNic's Planet - Nicola has gained a lot of readers ever since her first few months of blogging. She's one of the craziest, most fun blogger I've ever read. Some of her stories will make your jaw drop. The girl got game, I say.

9. the BLOGETTE - I've read Carina in a while and her blog is a mixture of a whole lot of different things. You can read her stories about stuff she finds while shopping, her opinions on current news and her personal relationship stories. I like that about her. She's not afraid to bare details when a lot of bloggers might try to censor here and there.

10. i hate so much - Who in the blogosphere doesn't know Maxie? She's the Membership Admin of 20-Something-Bloggers and also one of the really good bloggers who can make me laugh so much until my stomach hurts. Her Would You Rather Wednesday might be one of the grossest segment in the blogosphere. I can never resist, though. Check her crazy videos also!

11. Everyday Adventures ( Of Me In The City ) - Jessica's blog is a daily must-read for me because it's filled on a whole lot of different goodness : her insights, dating stories, crazy night out stories, etc. And for a well known blogger, she's definitely not one of the snobby ones who don't comment or at least say hey back to you. Friendly and nice.

12. Figuring It All Out - Some may know her as Miss Rambles, but I also call her Chido. I admire her for being a strong and independent woman, she's been through quite a lot this year. It amazes me how after everything on her plate, she still has time to show her friends she cares, including me. Her messages on Blackberry messenger are always the sweetest.

13. I Am Krissy - I can easily connect with this lovely girl because we share a lot of similar interests. Some of them are shopping, make ups, fashion, Harry Potter and Twilight Saga.

14. a name in your recollection - Sco is one of the best commenters of the blog. He's funny, nice, sarcastic at times. We goofed off on Twitter a lot. You have to read his installment of Facebook Fail every Friday. Amazing!

15. Life Under Construction - She calls herself a big nerd, I call her a sexy nerd. Jaime's posts always make me happy. Especially her I Love...Fridays.

16. Meme Love - Melissa is a blogger-slash-artist. If you check out her blog, you'll see a lot of her work. Aside being talented with brushes and paints, she's also a good writer. Whether in telling you about her days, or sharing you stories that she wrote.

17. Better Than Coffee - You see the cool header on top of this page? Yes, this girl made it. Nikolett is a beautiful 20-something friend of mine who lives in Canada and has a busy yet exciting university life. She shares my love for coffee, girly movies, and travel.

18. Ramblings Of a Fab Brunette - I see Margarita as a big sister I've never had. She's fabulous! She loves fashion, has a lot of pretty dresses and shoes, and her pretty little daughter? Precious and will grow as stylish as her. She makes some of the most beautiful cupcakes I've ever seen in my life. She has this power when she posts about relationship and grown up life, to make me think "Oh maybe I'll experience it too" and smile, instead of running away scared.

19. Gracie Bella Butterfly - If you're into weddings, fashion, crafting and pretty things, Gracie's blog is a must read. She posts so many beautiful pictures of her, her fiancee, and her friends.

20. Little Tiara - She's a fellow Indonesian who lives in a city called Yogyakarta around 90 minutes flight away. Her city is famous for its super nice and polite people, unlike a lot of stuck up arrogant people found in mine. This reflects on Tiara. She's really nice. She blogs about her study, her friends, and cute relationship stories.

Last but not least, I'd like to give this award to KIM from Perfectly Cursed Life herself :

Kim, I want you to know that I always enjoy your posts, especially Random Thoughts and Open Letters Friday. You write a lot about things that sometimes I can't even write in my own blog because of my insecurities but reading it in yours, it feels nice. Because it means I'm not alone and not such a freak after all.

So there you go. Everyone, feel free to participate in it and start thanking people. It's always nice to show some love and let people know we care about them, right?
