Two Worlds Collide!

It amazes me how gossips travel really fast.

See, I was having dinner with a bunch of fellow interns today. Being one of the newest kids, I was all calm and quiet. I intend to be really low key. New environment, new image, right? But then one of the girls I've just talked a couple times with before looked at me and asked, "So when is your next gig?"

I was all, "HUH?"

Suddenly all the attention turned to me.

"Gig? What gig?"

Uh-oh. So I told them when I happen to not spend my time being a lawbot and do things lawbots do, I run to the nearest microphone and try to out-cool Nicki Minaj.

But the questions kept on coming...

"REALLY?"

"Since when?"

"Do you perform?"

"Do you like Lil Wayne?"

"Yo, Andhari! HAHAHA! Yo, yo, yo!"

The last two sentences, as you can tell, are pretty retarded. I can tell that all of us will get along awesomely.

Speaking of retarded, I did a pretty retarded thing today.

I had a pretty dull reviewing assignment this afternoon. My office mate was out getting food, leaving me in our office room alone. The hallway was deserted and the office rooms next to us were mostly empty. Apparently a lot of people were out for meetings or something. So I figure I wouldn't bother anyone if I played a little bit of trashy but catchy music for fun and giggles, right?

I chose this song to wiggle to :

And this is my office room :

I was so lost in music : singing about all the money to blow and 24 hour champagne diet (LMAO!), typing and wiggling at the same time when I heard a loud cough behind me.

A senior associate shaking his head, looking amused.

Woops.

This conversation happened :

Him : Umm, where's your office mate?

Me : *speechless* She's out..

Him : ..............

Me : I'll let her know you're looking for her when she gets back

Him : Thanks...

Him : Have fun blowing your money! *walked out laughing out loud*

DEAD.

I also have a traditional job in the corporate world where my rap music and dirty podcasts sometimes shock clients.

The trick is to get a pair of nice headphones and always angle your screen away from the door :)

Hahahaha!!! Everyone's nightmare: embarassing yourself in front of a new crew! But hey, at least he's got a sense of humor!!! :)

  1. Last time I saw my grandparents, I pulled up BLARING Jay-Z and rapping along. They were...horrified. I feel your pain.

hahaha, don't worry, it can only get better from now on :) You know what you should do? you should watch quite a few episodes of Ally McBeal - and I'm 100% sure it will make you feel so much better, because she's humiliating herself much worse AND MUCH often there. haha.

    :)

  1. That is the greatest story ever! I mean about you getting caught wiggling about to rap. Ohmigosh I love it! No worries though; he seemed amused...always a good sign!

Happy, Happy Thursday, my love!! :)

  1. hahahahaa cant beat the incident where my senior colleague took my earphone and listened to scream by timbaland feat keri hilson. but i guess since you played it out loud... that's an entire different story ahah. seems like you're enjoying your internship though :)

Hahahah Well you managed to maintain the solid lawbot image for almost a week. Well done.

There are worse things you can caught be singing at work. Trust me.

I think your senior associate is cool. lol

And yes, gossip travels fast in the work setting. So always be careful. But then again, what they know about you is really something to be proud of. So you have nothing to worry about. :)

LoL Well the senior ass could have been worse about it, trust me lol

Always remember to never tell ANYONE in the workplace something you wouldn't want EVERYONE to know. Word travels fast - and especially as interns - trust nobody at your level, they'll step over you to try to get the spot after the internship is over.

  1. You should have played your own stuff!

  1. You should have played your own stuff!

    Ha! Oops!
I once worked temp jobs and at one placement my supervisor was this woman who LOVED the tropics and reggae music. One time, I was organizing files in a records room and listening to the radio and Bob Marley came on. She came in and started dancing away and singing, while an uptight (re: bitch) coworker of hers, glared at us disapprovingly. She just laughed at her and kept groovin'.

    Best supervisor ever!! ;)

That's hilarious! Both the other interns comments, and getting caught dancing. There's a lot worse you can get caught doing at work, right?! Might as well live it up while you can!
