Strasbourg - Museum of Contemporary Art

On the second day in Strasbourg we visited the Museum of Contemporary Art. It was really hot that day, so I went with as little clothes as possible. I called this outfit "American tourist". I even wore my personalized trucker cap to protect my dark hair from the sun and my brain from boiling.

Wearing: All Saints shirt, Zara shorts, C&A bag, Swatch watch and ooold sandals.

This bag is so easy to wear, it can holds sooo much stuff!

Kandinsky

Gotta love mockery in art! Surrealisme at it's best with a work of Belgian artiste, René Magritte.

Lobster Time

A while ago I bought the book with the retrospective of the work
of American artist Jeff Koons.
I like his over the top and humorous style of work.
World, in his eyes, is just a giant playground, full of kitsch elements.
You really can relax while looking at it, because it's translated in a non-aggressive way.
Even heavily sexual content is being reduced to minimum by placing it next to it's opposite.
Koons is one of the greatest postmodern artist, in my opinion.

Here're a few snapshots of my favorite pieces.

A funny coincidence that occurred was that I found a lobster brooch at an antique art market in Brussels, the same day that I bought the book. Not only is a lobster brooch hard to find, but finding it at the same time with this book... Has to be nothing but destiny :)

Inspired by fetish photography, erotic fantasies and some kind of childish innocence he takes illustration art to another level.
