MAC Make-Over + Essentiel Opening

Some exciting ,blog related, stuff has been happening over here lately. Two of those things were the MAC make-over I won with my face chart during a UPR blogging event and the opening of the Essentiel Accessories store in Antwerp. These two events combined on the same day were the perfect opening of the new blogging season for me.

The MAC make-over came in handy, I could just relax and afterward attend the Essentiel opening with perfect make-up. I chose for healthy, glowing skin to accentuate my tan and a pop of fuchsia on the lips to match my new shoes. I really loved the result and want to thank UPR for this opportunity!

The final result. Before clearly shows me without any make-up whatsoever. The shade of lipstick is called Show Orchid.

Afterwards followed the opening of the Essentiel Accessories store. You've probably already noticed that accessories play an essential part of my style, I have tons of them. So couldn't be happier to attend the opening of an accessories store. Essentiel is known for their use of bold colors, even the winter collections are full of them. No more sad and dark winter days with Essentiel. The new store is right next to the clothing store, perfect for a total shopping experience. I fell in love with several of the items in both the clothing and the accessories section. Just have a look yourself.

Tomato to go

The titel says it all. My favorite vegetable, a tomato, was my inspiration for this outfit. It doesn't have to be serious all the time, right?! If I do color, I do it all the way.
Another fact, my outfits are more sporty than ever. Blame it on the sneakers.

Tomorrow me and my boyfriend are leaving for Strasbourgh. I'm very excited to finally go on holiday. The weather forecast is promising. Because we're going by car I don't need to worry about packing so much. I packed more clothes than I'd probably need to, but I like to have my options. And when on holiday I usually change several times a day anyway.
I'm also preparing a few posts, to entertain you when I'm away. We're taking our laptop with us, so I hope we'll find an internet connection. If not, I'll be kicking it cold turkey style.

On the bright side

At last we've been experiencing some summer weather. A trip to the sea side and one hour in the back yard refreshed my tan and I look like I'm just returned from vacation. But my real vacation still has to start. After nagging about the fact of not being able to travel this summer, it turned out I'll be going for two trips.

Expect the unexpected, huh?! It happened really fast. At first me and my boyfriend decided to make a trip to a place that would be close to home, so we could drive there. After considering different options we chose Strasbourgh, France. A beautiful old city with lot's of sights. On the way home we'll also pass through Germany.

A few days after that, my best friend asked if I wanted to go to Barcelona with her. I've been dreaming of visiting Barcelona for years, so I agreed. We booked the cheapest flight through Ryan Air and a cheap and nice hotel. I'm so siked to go on this trips. I just need to get away once in a while.

I'll be leaving to Barcelona at the end of August, but I'm already thinking about what to pack with me. We decided to travel light, so I'll need to choose wisely. It's pretty hot in Barcelona, so I won't be needing warm clothing, just some dresses, shorts and bikini's. I'm planning on packing a lot of colors.

I'm sure people in Barcelona won't look as strange at me when I wear something colorful as when I wear it here. People in Belgium really like grey, beige and brown shades, you see...

I'm planning on packing this outfit with me as well. I scored these palazzo pants at the sales. Actually I've been looking for a maxi skirt, but haven't found nothing that I liked yet.

So, full on color that is perfect to go on holiday.

Clockwork Orange

I noticed I've been wearing more and more colors lately. I guess black days are over.

Oh, who am I kidding, I'll always love black and this will be my go to autumn/winter color (read 9 months out of 12 in Belgium). But I've been wearing colors more effortless the last year.

I can imagine people think my closet is filled with black items, but it's actually quite

well divided between colors/prints and black. Black is still easier to wear and style, though.

But I like a challenge, so usually I choose bold colored garments, such as this super bright (make your eyes hurt) sweater. I bought it at the winter sales and been wearing it quite frequently.

It was time to snap some pictures with it. Here you go! Don't mind my tired face.

The Spring only started and it's already a busy time around here. I can't keep up with all my posts + college and internship. I'm also kind of sick at the moment, but despite how uncomfortable it is, I don't let it hold me back.

After this short reality check, let me take you on a trip under water. No, I haven't totally lost my mind here...

It's just that the girls from Oona invited us to a mini fashion show to celebrate the new River Island collection. The collection was based on Miami. This means hot days, bright colors and light garments. The theme of the evening was the underwater world. I love myself some theme events and parties, so I was a happy girl.

I must say I enjoyed the evening and the collection, but unfortunately the collection would definitely be more appropriate for Miami or some other city with warm temperatures. Belgium is known for it's lousy summers and even when the tempratures are high, it still not the same vibe that you get while on vacation.

I probably won't be going to warmer destinations this year, so all I can do is dream away.
